Journal and letters of William F. Coultas; v.3, 1932 - 1933
Scope and Contents
Letters, daily observations, and journal entries from Coultas's time as member and leader of the Whitney South Sea Expedition. During this time, he and his team collected specimens from various islands, including the Solomon Islands, Carolines, Marianas, Guam and the Bismarck Archipelago. Coultas was a professional collector who participated in the expedition from late 1929 to 1935. He was selected to be the third leader, directing the expedition between 1930 to 1935.
