Summary

Located beneath the Hayden Sphere, the 7,000 square-foot Hall of the Universe examines how the universe evolved into galaxies, stars, and planets. The hall is divided into four zones: the Universe Zone, the Galaxies Zone, the Stars Zone, and the Planets Zone. The hall includes exhibits islands, astronomical images, and rotating video displays. The hall features the Willamette Meteorite, a closed-glass Ecosphere, moon rocks collected by the Apollo lunar missions, a black hole exhibit, and the Black Hole Theater. The hall frequently serves as a venue for special events (3, 2001, p. 14; 1; 4, 2000, p. 14; 5, 2017).
