Content Description
This collection is composed of packages of digital files documenting the production of audiovisual content by the Department of Communications – Editorial division beginning in 2008. It is comprised of born-digital material in the form of text documents, image files, and video files. Documents include metadata exports, permissions overviews and releases, and transcripts. Images consist of still photography used in the making of the films, mainly by the AMNH Photo Studio photographers. Video content includes raw footage segments as well as final exported content. Component series include links to files in Digital Asset Management system.

Conditions Governing Access
Raw footage and final film exports are available for view to AMNH Staff. Permission to view additional material must be obtained from the Department of Communications-Editorial staff. Non-AMNH Staff researchers must obtain permission from the Department of Communications-Editorial staff to view all material.

Arrangement
The collection is arranged in Series by year of production. Series contain sets of data by project relating to an exhibition, event, or location. Within each project, set material is arranged in the following structure: Documents, Metadata, Exports, Raw footage. Not every project contains every category.
Digital files are stored and managed in AMNH DAM.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Transfers from Department of Communications, Editorial team to Research Library begun in 2020 with planned continued deposits after 10 years (ex: 2011 will be transferred in 2021).

When applicable, files are converted to sustainable formats upon transfer (ex: doc to pdf/a). File names when necessary are altered to align with standards.
