Restoration: General
Scope and Contents
This series consists of picture clippings, newspaper spreads, magazine articles, photographs, and letters documenting Museum Preparations. The clippings of drawings and the accompanying letters are dated roughly between 1850 and1920. The newspaper and magazine clippings are dated between 1929 and 1948. The file folders are categorized under two main headings: Restoration and Palaeontology Fossils and also include smaller headings of Comparative Anatomy, Preparation, Taxidermy, Curiosities, and Art. The picture clippings and articles are most often glued directly upon the file folders—both front and back—with most of their original published captions intact. Many of the clippings were from The Illustrated London News.
