Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series consists of picture clippings, newspaper spreads, and magazine articles documenting various expeditions between 1920 and 1940. The file folders are categorized with a numbering system similar to the Ethnology series, representing the locations of the expeditions. These numbers can be used to cross-reference with other series, such as with the Archeology series. The picture clippings and articles are most often glued directly upon the file folders—both front and back—with most of their original published captions intact. There are also some files that show fold-out articles and maps. Many of the clippings were from the New York Times Picture Section.

Note: that the words in the [brackets] indicate the expedition name, expedition leader and/or place where the expedition took place.
