Scope and Contents

This series consists of molds of plants, flowers, and trees. The resulting models were used approximately between the 1910s and 1970s to reproduce foliage for the biodiversity and environmental halls as well as the foreground of the habitat dioramas of mammals, birds, and reptiles. There are 17 loose molds and 21 boxes containing molds related to this discipline. Some of the molds that can be found are that of cactus leaves, a spatterdock leaf, ginkgo leaves, a sugar pine cone, kelp leaves, and cotton flowers and leaves. Among the type of molds that can be found in this grouping are plaster one-piece molds, plaster and lead squeeze molds, plaster vacuum-formed plaster molds, black toffee and plaster piece molds, mother molds with plaster and rubber components (either latex or silicone), brass irons, cutting dies and veining dies.
