Scope and Contents

Contains letters of the USGS staff discussing fossil finds by Superintendent of the Owl Creek Coal Company site in Wyoming from 1925. Also included is correspondence regarding permission to collect fossils on land belonging to United Pacific Rail Road as well as the provision by the United Pacific of a Caterpillar shovel and dragline. Also included is correspondence between Brown and C. H. McWhinnie, Commissioner of Public Lands in Wyoming regarding permission to excavate fossils on public land.

Corresponence between Brown and Darwin Harbicht, Dr. Edward L. Lauzer, Granger, Rachel Nichols (Husband). Proposal by Brown for the expedition listing personnel to be involved. Also included is a letter from Brown describing a sidetrip to Colorado to collect fossils from a ceiling of a coal mine at Cedar Edge. Correspondence between Brown and Hans Christian Adamson, Chairman of Public and Press Information at AMNH regarding possible radio broadcasts regarding the expedition.

Also included is Brown's report on the expedition, an issue of "New Horizons" from November 8th 1937, AMNH Press Bulletin, and Brown's list of expenditures.
