Scope and Contents

Contains correspondence between Quentin Roosevelt II (grandson of Theodore Roosevelt) and Childs Frick regarding Roosevelt's and his friend Joseph W. Burden find of antelope fossils in an Arizona cave in 1934.

The fossils were sent to the Frick Laboratory and the find was subsequently published in a museum Novitates in October 1934.

The material includes hand drawn color sketches of the locality and the cave.

Also included is correspondence between the archive in AMNH and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library regarding the identity of Quentin Roosevelt and his mother Eleanor Bulter Alexander Roosevelt, whose note to Childs Frick is also included in the file.
