Scope and Contents

Correspondence between Simpson and Horaace S. Scarritt, Granger, G.H.H. Tate of the Department of Mammalogy. Also includes letters from Martin Doello-Jurado, Director of Buenos Aires Museo Nacional de Historia Natural to F.T. Davison and G.H. Sherwood. Includes lists of supplies ordered from Sear, Roebuck Company, receipts and disbursments, document from the Ministry of Finance of Argentina allowing Simpson to bring his tools into the country. A report in Spanish from the President of the Site Comission (Comision de Yacimientes) to the Minister of Justice and Public Instruction regarding the exportation of Scarritt collection as well as a letter from Simpson to Felix Outes, Presidente de la Seccion de Yacimientes, Museo Etnographico. Letters requesting permission to export fossils as well as the permits.

Also included is a list of fossil specimens originating in Argentina and North America that were sent to Simpson in Bueno Aires on January 26, 1934. The specimens do no appear to be from AMNH collection.

Also included are the list of principle material assets of the expedition, resume of field accounts and the Preliminary Plan for the Forth Year of the Scarrit Expedition.
