This series contains 27 handwritten manuscripts collected by Titian R Peale. Most are his own notes on various flora and fauna, including opossum, buffalo, and the sand-hill crane. There are also letters from friends to Peale and handwritten notes by other explorers, such as John Franklin and William McClure. Those that are dated are from the first half of the 19th century.
