Series 3: Specimen casts and reproductions, 1900-1970
Scope and Contents
The department's casts and reproductions production was managed as part of the Fossil Preparation lab, which undertakes the preparation of specimens for research and study. The collection is a compilation of records that document sales and exchanges with domestic and foreign institutions and cast information on parts available for reconstruction, includes some photographs. The dates of the transactions are as early as 1900 and as late as 1970. The collection may have originated from Rachel Nichols' office.

Folder 7 holds a bird catalog for the Frick Collection of Fossil Birds, titled "Frick Laboratory Specimens in The American Museum of Natural History, Catalogued by T. M. Stout, Completed August,1945."
