Artist

Hanson Puthuff painted three diorama backgrounds for the AMNH Theodore Roosevelt Memorial: Roosevelt Elkhorn Ranch, Old New York, and Roosevelt and Conservation. Hanson also accompanied James L. Clark on expedition to North Dakota in preparation of the "Roosevelt Ranch Group", during which time Hanson made color sketches. He also made three alternative background studies for the Bison Group and two alternative studies for the Elk Group, showing the Grand Tetons under snow and without snow.
