Exhibition. Opened November 1981 and closed November 12, 1981. Located in the New York State Roosevelt Memorial at the American Museum of Natural History. "Fruit Flies: Famous and Infamous" examined the Mediterranean fruit fly using preserved specimens in describing its life cycle and the threat it poses to agriculture.

Summary

"Fruit Flies: Famous and Infamous" examined the Mediterranean fruit fly using preserved specimens in describing its life cycle and the threat it poses to agriculture. It was shown in conjunction with another exhibition, "The Wooly Bear Caterpillar--Folklore's Winter Weather Forecaster." Both were Arthur Ross Exhibits of the Month and were on view in the Roosevelt Rotunda on the second floor of the American Museum of Natural History through November 12, 1981.
