Summary
"It's Gold" was an exhibition created especially to complement "Gold of El Dorado" and gave visitors an in-depth look at the history, physical properties, forms, geological locations, beauty, and rarity as well as ancient and modern applications. It included a specimen of crystallized gold given to the Museum by the Newmont Mining Corporation. George Harlow, curator in the Department of Mineral Sciences, was the scientific consultant to the exhibition which was designed by Ralph Bauer of the Museum's Department of Exhibitions. "It's Gold" began its four-city tour at the American Museum of Natural History and was on view in the Roosevelt Rotunda from November 13, 1979 through March 18, 1980.
