Summary
"Manhattan Building Stones: A Treasure Trove" showed how rocks are cut out of the ground, shaped, transported, quarried and utilized by humans to build, featuring photographs of key Manhattan buildings with information and samples of the stones used to construct them as well as fossils in and out of the stones. The exhibition was curated by Sidney Horenstein, Scientific Assistant in the Museum's Department of Invertebrates. This Exhibit of the Month, supported by the Arthur Ross Foundation, was on display in the Roosevelt Rotunda of the American Museum of Natural History possibly starting in August, 1979 and continued through November 15, 1979.
