Exhibition. Opened April 7, 1971 and closed May 31, 1971. Located in the Education Hall Foyer at the American Museum of Natural History. "Art Work from I.S. 201" featrued art by children from Intermediate School 201 in Manhattan, inaugurating renovated exhibition space in the Education Hall Foyer.

Summary

"Art Work from I.S. 201" featrued art by children from Intermediate School 201 in Manhattan, inaugurating renovated exhibition space in the Education Hall Foyer. The nearly 40 paintings, wood carvings, graphics, drawings, and papier-mache work were created by twenty-two children in grades five through eight. The art was the product of a 12-week African heritage project under the tutelage of art teachers Mrs. Irene Mayson and Miss Patricia Lamendola. The exhibition of art work was sponsored by the Education Department and was on view in the Education Hall Foyer for about two months starting April 7, 1971.
