"An Ancient Peruvian Robe" featured an embroideredcloak thought to have been worn by a noble of a culture that lived on the Paracas Peninsula in Peru before the Spanish conquest.

Summary

"An Ancient Peruvian Robe" featured an embroideredcloak thought to have been worn by a noble of a culture that lived on the Paracas Peninsula in Peru before the Spanish conquest. On loan from Herbert Hoover, the robe was restored by Kathryn Scott, the specialist in ancient textile restoration, under the supervision of Junius Bird, Associate Curator of Archeology at the Museum. The robe was on display on the first floor of the Roosevelt Memorial Building from May 10 through June 24, 1957
