Summary
"Chinese Dinosaurs" was an exhibition displaying recreations of two Chinese dinosaurs. The Mamenchisaurus replica was 72 feet long. Its enormous neck--believed to be the longest of any animal that ever lived--measured 33 feet. A replica of Tsintaosaurus, a medium-sized dinosaur (23 feet long), that had massive grinding teeth and a very large, well-developed solid horn on the top of its skull, was also displayed. The original dinosaurs were mounted by the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology in Beijing. The recreated dinosaurs were on view in the Roosevelt Memorial Hall of the American Museum of Natural History from October 15, 1985 through January 6, 1986.
