Exhibition. Opened in April 5, 1978 and closed September 1978. Located on Floor 2 in the Akeley Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History. "The Sport of Birding" was an exhibition describing the talents and skills involved in bird watching in a series of displays, films and visitor-participation exhibits.

Summary

"The Sport of Birding" was an exhibition describing the talents and skills involved in bird watching in a series of displays, films and visitor-participation exhibits. Included were films on birds, an identification quiz, a large relief model of a sample bird and its parts and a section on the equipment birders use. Accompanied by recordings of birdcalls, the exhibit was on view in the Akeley Gallery on the second floor of the American Museum of Natural History from April 5 through September, 1978.
