Exhibition. Opened in December 10, 1958 and closed January 25, 1959. Located in Section 5, Floor 2 in the Corner Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History. "Sea Peoples of the Sulu Archipelago" was an exhibition displaying the way of life of the Mohammedan Sulus who live on a remote string of islands in the southwest Philippines was depicted in paintings by Lucie Palmer.

Summary

"Sea Peoples of the Sulu Archipelago" was an exhibition displaying the way of life of the Mohammedan Sulus who live on a remote string of islands in the southwest Philippines was depicted in paintings by Lucie Palmer. A sea-faring people by tradition, Palmer painted primarily the "Samai" fishermen and pearl divers as well as the "Badjow" who live on their boats. The approximately fifty oil sketches were on display in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from December 10, 1958 through January 25, 1959.
