Francis Lee Jaques (28 September 1887-24 July 1969), also known as Lee Jaques, is celebrated for his diorama paintings at the American Museum of Natural History, executed during the early and mid-twentieth century. A frequent collaborator with Museum curator and ornithologist Frank M. Scope and Contents
Rachel H. Nichols served as a cataloger, staff assistant and finally as a scientific assistant and replaced Miss Lucas in charge of the Osborn Library. The records that resulted consist of a great variety of subjects and represent her activities both in some personal enterprises and in her official capacity.

Scope and Contents
The paintings were made for the Wallach Orientation Center, which introduces visitors to the key concepts presented in the Museum's fossil halls: the Hall of Vertebrate Origins, the David H. Koch Dinosaur Wing, and the Lila Acheson Wallace Wing of Mammals and Their Extinct Relatives. The paintings were removed in September 2015 when the Museum began to renovate the Center. Paintings signed RJB or R; a few are dated in back.
