Series 2: Historic materials, 1888 - 1972
Scope and Contents
Various collections of historical materials from the Department of Vertebrate Paleontology have been gathered by different departmental members. The sources are unclear as well as the purposes. However, they have been inventoried and where appropriate, catalogued. This listing has been arranged more for suitability of storage than for relationship of the items. Box 1 contains 5 folders, including manuscripts, news articles, fossil pictures, cartoons, caricatures, and other miscellaneous materials; 2 packages consist of plates of fossil plants, pictorial charts, and news clippings; and oversize boxes contain a collection of cartoons, caricatures, paintings, Christmas cards, posters, invitations, and miscellaneous items dealing with or used by the Department of Vertebrate Paleontology at Christmas Luncheons 1912-1931.
