Scope and Contents A seemingly unfinished taxidermy bird form, possibly built to mount a bird for an exhibition between 1887 and the 1950s.Bird skins were mounted on a soft form that simulates the musculature of the bird’s body. Sisal and excelsior were used because they were soft enough to be penetrated by the wires that would position and support the wings and legs.
