This series contains 27 handwritten manuscripts collected by Titian R Peale. Most are his own notes on various flora and fauna, including opossum, buffalo, and the sand-hill crane. There are also letters from friends to Peale and handwritten notes by other explorers, such as John Franklin and William McClure. Those that are dated are from the first half of the 19th century.

Scope and Contents This series makes up the bulk of collection, with 226 objects. They include prints, lithographs, illustration sheets, photogravures, and printed ephemera. The subjects of these objects are vast and have been collected over a long period of time. They range from reproductions of animal drawings to portraits, diagrams, and excerpts from newspapers and books. Scope and Contents The Titian Ramsay Peale collection consists of approximately 500 objects. The majority of these are prints/illustrations (200), but there are also over 100 photographs and 65 drawings. Though the collection is attributed to Titian Peale, a number of other family members may have contributed objects, including Albert Peale and Coleman Sellers.
