Photographs, 1926-1991
Scope and Contents
This series contains 5 boxes of photographs and negatives of images from the field. They are arranged in individual envelopes by date with short descriptions. The photographic material is a bequest from Marie Skinner following her husband's death in 1989, whereupon the materials were assembled in Ainsworth, Nebraska, and deposited in the Vertebrate Paleontology Archives.
In July 2004, most of the negatives in Box 1 (Envelopes 1 to 73) were moved to the AMNH Research Library's refrigerated storage by Susan K. Bell, the DVP Resident Research Associate at the time. Envelopes 74 through 110 of Box 1 still contains negatives. Box 2 through Box 5 contain a variety of negatives and prints, with notable appearances in the images including Ted Galusha, Marilyn Galusha, Hazel DeBerard, Marie Skinner, and Morris Skinner himself. Other photograph subjects include landscapes of field research sites in Nebraska, Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and others, as well as landmarks, group portraits, specimens, and specimen localities relating to Skinner’s work, and photos of Native Americans.
