Summary
American naturalist, artist and taxidermist. Gardell D. Christensen worked as an exhibition preparator at the American Museum of Natural History. From 1928-1941, Christensen contributed taxidermy mounts for the Akeley Hall of African Mammals amd the Hall of North American Mammals. He collaborated with James L. Clark on the mounts for the lion diorama in the Akeley Hall of African Mammals. Other notable works include his grizzly bears, the reclining mountain lion, and the mountain goats in the Hall of North American Mammals. He also worked on the taxidermy for the Elkhorm Ranch diorama in the Roosevelt Memorial.
