Historical Note
The North American Beaver diorama, located on the first floor in the Bernard Family Hall of North American Mammals, depicts a group of beavers at Hoister Creek in the State Game Refuge, Gladwin County, Michigan. It was completed in 1954 and restored during the Hall's renovation project in 2011-2012. The background was created by James Perry Wilson; the foreground by Freidoun Jalayer; taxidermy by George Adams (1954). (Windows on Nature, 2006).
