Frank E. Watson worked at the American Museum of Natural History beginning in 1914 as an assistant and subsequently Staff Assistant in the Department of Insects and Spiders. Watson classified and arranged the museum's collections of butterflies and moths. He went on several field trips, mostly to Florida and the West Indies. He retired from the museum in 1939
