Professor of Zoology at Vassar

Alfred Marston Tozzer was made an honorary curator in the Department of Invertebrate Zoology at the American Museum of Natural History in 1908. Treadwell became an authority on polychaete annulates. He classified and identified the polychaetes in the collections of the Invertebrate Department. Treadwell did field work in Connecticut, Florida and the Bahamas. He went on expedition to Dry Tortugas and to Ashokan Watershed
