1950 August 19 - 1950 September 30
Summary
"Famous Animals You Should Know" featured eight statuettes created by artist Paul Wright. The statuettes were done as interpretations of famous stories such as Jonah and the Whale and the "Br'er Rabbit" tale. To help illustrate some of the stories, the exhibition included rare volumes obtained through Brentano's Fifth Avenue. The exhibition was prepared under the direction of Katharine Beneker, Museum Supervisor of Display, and was on view in the seventy-seventh street Foyer of the American Museum of Natural History from August 19 through September 30, 1950.
