"Design Down Under" was a photo-mural exhibition of Australian native art iwth 22 photo-mural panels prepared from photographs by Martin Metal of the University of California.

Summary

"Design Down Under" was a photo-mural exhibition of Australian native art iwth 22 photo-mural panels prepared from photographs by Martin Metal of the University of California. Featured designs in the photographs included shields, bark paintings, tattooing, baskets, flint knives, axes, and clubs. The Exibition was sponsored by the San Francisco branch of the Australian Department of Information, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the City College of San Francisco. It was on view in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from June 9 through July 4, 1950.
