Summary
"Animal Paintings by Valerie Swanson" featured 27 oil and watercolors executed in the forests of the Catskill Mountains in New York by Valerie Swanson. The exhibit was devoted to scenes which Swanson painted on her property in the Catskills, where small game ran wild. Her subjects, mostly from life, included bear, deer, fox, rabbits, and squirrels. The paintings were on view in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from June 3 until July 5, 1949.
