Summary
The New York Aquarium Society Annual Exhibition featured examples of aquaria, terraria, and live animals. The exhibition was held annually, from 1911 to approximately 1941. The documentation for the exhibition is incomplete; it is mentioned in Museum press releases in 1934 and 1936 and Museum annual reports in 1911, 1914, 1915, 1917, 1928, 1936, and 1941. The 1936 annual report describes various exhibitions held in the foyer (Grand Gallery), Education Hall, and Reptile Hall (Hall of Reptiles and Amphibians), including the Aquarium Society Exhibition, but does not name which exhibitions were held where (1, 1936, p. 13).

*1934: Tanks showing various methods of breeding and reproduction, terraria of snakes and lizards from the Museum's Experimental Biology Department (2, 1934)
*1936: Danios, Basiliscus, sunfish, shiners, dace, catfish, and treefrogs, and an assistant who explained methods of keeping terraria and aquaria (3, 1936)
*1941: Butterfly fish from Congo and Niger Rivers in Africa, Mouth breeders from Africa, guppies, Claud toad, Tilapia, Surinam toad from Brazil, American alligators, Florida snapping turtle, Suwanee turtle, soft-shelled turtle, large northern bullfrog, Coral snake mimics, Collared lizards from Utah, Giant Tree Frogs, striped racer and red-horned toad from Zion National Park; Climbing perch, Egyptian Mouth breeders, a tank of blown glass models of aquatic life, and toads. Exhibitors included the Museum's Department of Experimental Biology and Department of Herpetology, Gilbert Marcrossen, William Holbein, and Lyna Randel (1, 1941, p. 1-3)
