Summary
"Okavango: Africa's Last Eden" was an exhibition about the Okavango Delta, a vast wetland teeming with wildlife in the middle of the Kalahari Desert of northern Botswana photographed by wildlife photographer, Frans Lanting. On view were approximately thirty large-format color photographs of Okavango flora and fauna taken by Lanting. Niles Eldredge, curator, Department of Invertebrates, American Museum of Natural History, was the host curator for the exhibit. The exhibit was organized by the National Wildlife Art Museum (Jackson Hole, Wyoming) and was on view in the Akeley Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from August 2, 1996 through January 5, 1997.
