Summary
"The Nature of Minerals," a Museum Showcase, was on display at the American Museum of Natural History. This was a small exhibit that enabled visitors to touch and examine a large specimen of quartz and one of beryl. Inside the exhibit case, specimens of sulphur, fluorite, malachite, pyrite, gypsum, calcite and amethyst were displayed. Another section displayed natural amethyst crystals from various parts of the world. A third section showed hand-made jewelry, carvings and other examples of the use of amethyst as a gemstone. The exhibit was on view in the Roosevelt Memorial Hall on the second floor of the American Museum of Natural History from June 5 through September 2, 1974.
