Exhibition. Opened in March 9, 1908 and closed March 23, 1908. "Congestion of Population in New York City" highlighed the growing congestion of population in New York City. This was held at the American Museum of Natural History.

Summary

This exhibition highlighed the growing congestion of population in New York City. Maps of tenements and bus lines were used. Models were constructed according to scale and were exhibited to show old and new tenements and the increased height of buildings in the last 21 years. Other models compared an open-space tenement containing playground and park but covering only half the site of the building to an apartment in a typical down-tenement. Also included was a model of a normal vs. a crowded school room and a series of dark and light rooms as recommended by the Practical Housekeeping Centers Association. This was held at the American Museum of Natural History from March 9 to March 23, 1908.
