Scope and Contents This collection contains field notes written by Butler during the 1925 field season (April 11-August 20) of the Third Asiatic Expedition. Scope and Contents

The Central Asiatic Expedition comprised multiple seasons in the field and lasted from 1921 to 1930.

The majority of the material related to the expedition is contained in the Museum Archives at the David S. and Ruth L. Gottesman Research Library and Learning Center. The archive at the Department of Vertebrate Paleontology contains some correspondence relating to the publication of the expedition reports, drafts of those reports, maps, charts, and some photographs.
