Many of these photographs have handwritten notes signed “CFN” on the back. There are also notes on some photos to clarify which tribes are featured (ie. “Haida or Kwakiutl”?)

Juliette Gauther called "Totem Land" and "Saving the Sagas," coordinated by Marius Barbeau. Subjects include Codwallader Girls, Mme. Gauther, George Hunt and his wife, and a Native Woman as well as death masks and burial totems.
