Contains 6 black and white mounted portraits of Indians from British Columbia or Alaska circa1890s. The photographs are stamped “From the Boas Collection 43.” Subjects are seated in what appears to be formal dress. Many of the photos have the subject’s name written in pencil under the photographs: Wanuk, Johnny, David.

The last portrait is of a different man with no notes to identify him. The photos were taken and/or printed at The Hastings Art Studio of British Columbia.

There are handwritten notes under each subject indicating their tribe – Nootka or Haida. The mounted photograph of two totems is labeled “B.C. Towne, Portland, Oregon. Alsaks, Columbia River, and Northwest Scenery.”

Contains 1 German business card featuring of two Bella Coola Native Americans on one side for Carl Gunther with handwritten notes reading “...Deity of the Bella Coola Indians in British Columbia. The Deity who creates everything.” The business card is wrapped in paper but was torn in half despite a clear attempt to tape it together.
