Biographical sketch

Born in: NYC; Died in: Princeton, NJ. Active in: NY; NJ.Advisor for Astronomy Hall 1925-1934. Butler was a landscape and portrait painter, but with his college degree in physics, he was always interested in science. He worked at the Princeton University Astronomy Department painting numerous canvasses of astronomical subjects.
