The collection contains a library of 35mm slides covering a wide range of topics, along with some supporting materials. The collection includes field work photographs from expeditions, collection and specimen imagery, AMNH photo studio images of buildings, events, and exhibit photographs, and more. Some slides duplicate negative and print collections.

Abstract
Photographs taken in Africa of animals in nature, mostly mammals. Includes lions, cheetahs, elephants, hippopotamuses, wildebeests, baboons, giraffes, zebras, impala, hyenas, buffalo, elephant shrews, and jackals among others. Some photographs of colleagues, native people, and city buildings. Areas include Botswana, Serengeti, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia. 551. Photographs taken 1960-1975. 552.
