Biographical or Historical Note

George H. H. Tate was a Curator in the Department of Mammalogy at the American Museum of Natural History. Tate began working at the museum in 1921 doing field work on an expedition to Ecuador. He was an associate curator of mammals from 1942 to 1946. From 1931 to 1942 he was assistant curator of South American mammals. Tate participated in many AMNH expeditions. He died in 1953
