"American Discovery: The Colonial Period" opened for the 1992 quincentennial of the discovery of the New World with six exhibits describing the exploration of the Americas.

Summary

"American Discovery: The Colonial Period" opened for the 1992 quincentennial of the discovery of the New World with six exhibits describing the exploration of the Americas. This first exhibit in the series told the story of the exploration of the country through a display of rare books, photographs, paintings, and maps. The exhibition was on view in the Library Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from July through December 1990.
