Summary
"Original Watercolors Illustrating Eagles, Hawks and Falcons of the World" featured three original watercolors illustrating the two-volume set of Eagles, Hawks and Falcons of the World together with the first edition of the work. The watercolors were of the Harpy Eagle and the Indian Peregrine Falcon by Don Eckelberry; and Isidor's Eagle by Guy Coheleach. The two-volume set was co-authored by Leslie Brown, an authority on birds of prey, and Dean Amadon, the Lamont Curator of Birds and Chairman of the Department of Ornithology of The American Museum of Natural History. The American edition, sponsored by the National Audubon Society, shows all the approximately 300 species of day-flying birds of prey. The exhibition was on view in the 77th Street Foyer of The American Museum of Natural History during the month of May 1969 as the Exhibit of the Month.
