Summary

"The Face of India," was an exhibition of photographs by Ernest Rathenau. The 50 photographs were taken mostly in Northwestern India and portrayed the contrasts of life in India. Rathenau photographed ragged children, the beautiful women of Bombay, holy men, bustling marketplaces as well as the countryside. The exhibition was on view in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from January 6 through March 10, 1956.
