"Titanium: The New 'Cinderella Metal" followed the development of the new "Cinderella Metal," titanium. The exhibition demonstrated how titanium became one of the great metals of the age with a wide variety of uses and showed examples of the minerals in which titanium occurs. Dr. Frederick H. Pough, Curator of Physical Geology and Mineralogy, stated that titanium would soon rank along with aluminum and iron in applications. The exhibition, sponsored by the National Lead Company, was on view in the Morgan Hall of the American Museum of Natural History starting August 24, 1950.
