Exhibition. Opened December 5, 1947 and closed February 15, 1948. Located in the Corner Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History. "Avinoff Orchid Water Color" featured watercolors of orchids painted by artist and naturalist Andrey Avinoff.

Summary

"Avinoff Orchid Water Color" featured watercolors of orchids painted by artist and naturalist Andrey Avinoff. The artist combined scientific and horticultural accuracy with decorative composition in showing 60 varieties of the orchid genus Cattleya. The collection was initially on view in the Corner Gallery Room at the American Museum of Natural History from December 5 until January 5, 1948. Due to popular interest, the exhibit was extended through Feb. 15, 1948.
