Exhibition. Opened October 7, 1940. Located in the Grand Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History. "Rare Butterfly Exhibit" featured 300 specimens in a colleciton of Morpho butterflies.

Summary

"Rare Butterfly Exhibit" featured 300 specimens in a colleciton of Morpho butterflies. The complete collection contained more than 600 specimens and more than 100 named kinds, was given to the museum by .Frank Johnson, who collected the specimens over a period of 20 years. The collection was on view in the 77th St. lobby of the American Museum of Natural History for several weeks starting on October 7, 1940.
