Journal and notes of Hannibal Hamlin; v.2, 1928 - 1930
Scope and Contents
Daily notes, observations, and journal entries from Hamlin's time as participant and leader of the Whitney South Sea Expedition from 1927 to 1930 in various islands in Melanesia, including the Solomon Islands, the Louisiade Archipelago, the D'Entrecasteaux island group, Woodlark Island, the Trobriands, and Papua New Guinea. After original leader Rollo Beck retired, Hamlin was appointed leader of the expedition from March 1928 until January 1930. He left the expedition in August 1930.
