13 oil paintings, many of them done underwater in Tahiti, All items are nailed to wooden frames, except for item 6, titled "Coral-garden in the lagoon of Maraa, Tahiti, toward sunset, depth 20 ft. 1930."

In 3 boxes. Items 1-6 are in box 1 (45 x 34 x 11 cm.); items 7-12, in box 2 (49 x 63 x 16 cm.), item 13, in box 3 (86 x 64 x 3 cm.)

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Donated for the Hall of Ocean Life by various individuals, including Mrs. William Beebe (item 2), Earl Pritchard in memory of Richard Sackville Cox III, age 20 years (item 3), Laura Steward in memory of her husband, John Wood Steward (item 4), Arthur Curtiss James (items 7-8), Mrs. W.K. Vanderbilt (item 9), and Mrs. William Henry Bliss (item 11). At least one was purchased by the Museum.
